The Final Push...

Hey everyone

I'm just writing this post super fast (I'm literally typing between spoonfuls of cereal!) to warn y'all that things are going to be pretty quiet around here for the next couple of weeks.

It sucks that I have to put blogging on the back burner for a while but it's for a valid reason (I promise).

I've got just two weeks left of my undergrad degree with three exams sit and one last essay to write (plus one extra super scary secret thing right in the middle of all that!) so it's all systems go for me at the moment.

I've been getting up at 6am (unheard of for me!) to work on my essay for a couple of hours before settling down to revise for the rest of the day. Fun times.

Anyway, the point is that I doubt that I'll be posting from now until May 8th because I've just got to focus on my degree and these final few hurdles.

I'm sure that y'all can relate!

See you soon xxx

MWIP: 69/104...

Hey everyone

Last week went by super fast! Here's what I got up to, I...
...had a blue raspberry slush - I have a slush obsession, if I find a stand selling it then I have to buy one!
...walked in on the bf and Little Prin having sleepy snuggles - too cute!
...bought some baby blue cushions for the lounge to make it a bit brighter for Spring :)
...spent a lot of time revising and realised that even after three years of my undergrad degree, my drawing skills have not improved - ah well :P
...felt very accomplished when my revision pen ran out - considering that this pen was new when I started my revision for this semester I think that's pretty impressive!
...managed to capture this awesome shot when I was walking Little Prin
...near enough died of cuteness overload when I saw Little Prin after her hair cut!
...painted my nails with Model's Own speckled polish for Easter - it looks like mini eggs on my nails!
...loved the tulips that Nam had at her house for Easter Sunday lunch
...was surprised by the bf when I received this incredible Easter egg from him along with a Disney DVD - love him lots!
...realised that the bf and I ended up with matching Lindt Easter eggs - perfect couple or what? :P
...enjoyed a lovely roast dinner on Easter Sunday with this huge turkey!
...spent a lovely bank holiday with the fam - the bf was in love with this plant pot!
...enjoyed fish and chips on that trip with the family - it's our standard lunch on our day trips :P
...fell in love with how cute this dinky bottle of pepsi is!
...was very upset when I had to spend the day inside revising when it was so beautiful and sunny and warm outside :(

I hope you all had a fabulous week - as always I'd love it if you linked up via the widget & button below to share what you got up to this week!

 It'd absolutely make my day!

Top 5 Tuesday: Home Decor Ideas...

Hey everyone
Just Peachy

I'm linking up with Rachel from {Just Peachy} today for Top 5 Tuesday

Today I'm going to be pulling from {my pinterest} {decorating board} and sharing my top 5 home decor pins.

Pinning away to this board has really helped me to figure out what my home decor style is - I love lots of different textures, very neutral colours (greys and whites mainly), quite minimalistic.

Seeing as I'm going to be graduating from uni this summer I'm looking to redecorate my room so of course I turned to my {decorating board} - so today's post is sort of killing two birds with one stone (or two post ideas with one post), I'm sharing my top five home decor ideas and the inspiration for my room redecoration project!

I have an archway in my room and I love how this feather boa looks pretty classy!

I love the different textures in this room - it looks so snuggly!

I adore this set up - it's so perfect for a couple!

I'm thinking that a gallery wall above my bed would be a perfect to add something to a plain white wall!

I love how distressed the floor is in this picture - I'm think that doing this to the wooden furniture in my room would look so cool!

Also, for more of my room inspiration as of late then check out {this} post!

What's your decor inspiration at the moment?
Lemme know in the comments!

If you enjoyed this post then please feel free to follow my {decor board} on {my pinterest}!

Easter Decor...

Hey everyone

Well, Easter is finally upon us (hello, chocolate overload) but our home has been decorate all Spring-y and Easter-y for about a good month now!

Ma and I decorated for {Halloween} last year and then it was {Christmas} and then suddenly nothing - we felt that our house looked a tad plain without any decor so we jumped at the chance to decorate again!

Anyway, I'm sharing out Easter decor with y'all today, so here goes!

The bay window sill in our dining room is our main focal point for decor - tulips at this time of year are just standard and we found this super cute Easter sign and added it to frame our focal piece...

this Easter themed cake stand choc-full (haha, did you see what I did there?!) of chocolate bunnies, chocolate chicks, chocolate discs, little fluffy chicks, fluffy chicks in nests, fluffy chicks in little Easter baskets and this super adorable pair of white and dark chocolate chicks!

Phew - you could say that we went a bit Easter-crazy!

Seeing as how much we loved decorating our white tree for {Christmas} we decided to do the same for Easter...

we added these hollow eggs (they look so realistic - I love them!), some wooden bunnies and my personal favourites ...

 These little guys!

Aren't they just the cutest?!

We also purchased a wreath for our front door (way back in February because we spotted it and loved it that much!)...

I think it's so spring-y but not overly Easter-y an potentially tacky (like our Easter cake stand - but hey, it's fun!) and just so gorgeous!

Finally, probably my most favourite decor piece of this season - some more tulips, but what's that?....

They're sat in a bowl of mini eggs - how very Easter appropriate!

Plus mini eggs are my fave chocolates ever (and it sucks that they're only available at Easter) and using them as decor means that I can eat them after (winning!)

I love how fun they are!

So that's how we've decoration for Easter this year - I'm so happy with it - it has definitely made waiting for Spring a whole lot easier!

Do you decorate for Easter?
If so, what's your favourite decor piece that you've got?

Hey everyone

So today I've got something very exciting to share with y'all!

A couple of months ago I was super lucky to receive an ARC for {Alley Saltz}'s debut novel - Reed*.

buy the US version {here} & the UK version {here}

It's basically a crime novel (if you've read any of my book reviews before y'all will know how much I love a good crime novel!) with a sprinkling of romance and plenty of drama.

Now, because I'm coming to the end of my final year of my undergrad degree I've been snowed under with studying and haven't been able to sit down and devour my copy (which really annoyed me because it was sitting on my kindle tantalising me, but hey - my degree has to come first!) but I did finally manage to get down to reading it last week - oh my goodness, I was hooked - I initially was going to just read a chapter before bed each day but seriously I got so sucked in and engaged with the story that I ended up staying up way too late and reading way more chapters that I'd intended :P

Testimony for a good book though, no?

What I love most about this book, I think (it's hard to pinpoint one most favourite thing! I also really enjoyed the way Reed's back story was presented - it was explained succinctly enough to not distract from the main plot but with enough detail to understand what makes Reed, Reed) is Reed (the protagonist) - I love her! She's such a strong female character (which I always love) and her sarcasm is just on point - I love being able to pick up on sarcasm in a novel without every other adverb being 'sarcastically' :P

So, I'm still reading Reed but I'm loving it - I'd highly recommend picking up this book if you're looking for a new book to pick up or if you love the crime genre (like I do!).

It's a really compelling read - if you ask me, it is best read curled up in front of a window with a mug of hot tea, snuggled up under a blanket with a candle burning and it raining outside - that way you can just let yourself escape into Reed's world (trust me, it wont take you long to fly through this book if you do that!

Today is officially the release date for Reed and you can purchase Reed from Amazon in the US {here} or the UK {here} - it's a kindle edition too which makes it all to easy to read it on the go - true story: I was reading it on my kindle when I was waiting for an appointment and literally had to be called three times because I was so engrossed in the novel!

So, thank you very much {Alley Saltz} for firstly being an amazing author and writing this awesome novel and secondly, for allowing me this advanced reader copy to sink my teeth into!

aHm xoxo

*in case you hadn't gathered already - the author kindly sent me an ARC of 'Reed' to review and let y'all know about :)
