Miss Understood...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November (I can't believe it's nearly the end!) - so here's the next instalment...

Day #29 - What do you think people misunderstand the most about you?

I think I would have to say that people seem to misunderstand the fact that I naturally get the good marks that I do - that it comes easily to me.

This is definitely not the case!

I put a lot (a lot a lot) of hard work into studying for my degree so the marks I get are a reflection of that hard work which makes me very proud of them (understandably so I hope!). They are not just a result of me being incredibly smart and getting those marks with no work. It really annoys me that people think that I just get those grades just because I do - that I didn't have to study for them or something!

I enjoy studying and working hard for all of my assessments - it makes it all the more worthwhile when I get a good grade one them. I can't just waltz into an exam without having done any revision and come out with the grades I do (I sometimes wish I could though! :P)

Lurrve Language...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November (I can't believe it's nearly the end!) - so here's the next instalment...

Day #28 - What is your love language?
-not gonna lie I did have to google this one :P

Apparently my 'love language' is Quality Time which means...

"In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there – with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby – makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. Quality time also means sharing quality conversation and quality activities."

To be honest I was sceptical at how accurate this would be seeing as the questions in the quiz were pretty odd but I'm pleasantly surprised. It's true - nothing makes me happier to know that I have someones' attention (I'm a Leo after all :P) and I do get really hurt/annoyed if I feel ignored or forgotten.

This was a really interesting question so I pose it to you all - what is your love language? Take {the quiz}.

You're wrong...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November - so here's the next instalment...

Day #26 - What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?

*DISCLAIMER: I don't mean this post to offend any one - this is just my personal opinion*

The fact that people 'have' to and should get married.

[I'm feeling controversial here - I know, just bear with me]

My issue with this is that people can still love each other and be as committed to each other as they would if they were married - but they don't have to. After seeing my parents go through a divorce and 5 out of 6 of my friends having divorced parents in high school I just don't think I can go it myself - not when it's (in my mind) unnecessary. Sure, who wouldn't want the fancy wedding, with all your friends and family there to share in your happy day but really at the end of it to me it's just a piece of paper and less taxes (which admittedly isn't a bad thing).

Now don't get me wrong - I appreciate all the religious reasons surrounding marriage - that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about those people who have never been religious in their lives, nor do they intend on ever being and then just go get married. I just don't get their reasons.

Having said all that - I do like the thought behind an engagement ring - it shows commitment  and trust (so if you're reading this bf - it'd be a Tiffany princess cut one please :P)

Dinner Party Time...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November - so here's the next instalment...

Day #25 - If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat? -This is such a cool question!

Charles Darwin
I'm a scientist - being able to talk to the founder of evolution would be incredible.

Charles II
He sounds like a right laugh! He'd be great to add some humour to party!  Up the restoration :P

Elizabeth Fry
Her incredible contribution to making prisons better places just amazes me  - she's such an unsung hero.

Hippocrates
I want a career related to medicine and this man made such a big change to medicine that I'd love to meet him.

Dick Turpin
I love the romantic nature surround this highwayman - I may or may not have a slight crush on him #sorryimnotsorry

Robin Hood
Yes - he was real. And I just love him and what he stood for.

As for what they would eat - I'd ask them to each bring something from their own era - it'd make for a pretty cool dinner party I think!

Who would you invite?

Day 23 (& skippage of 24)...

Hey everyone

I can't believe it's nearly been 30 days of blogging every day (well near enough) of the  Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes}...
--------------------

Day #23 -  List your top 5 hobbies and why you love them

  1. Horses - I was given my first pony for my first birthday and I've had two more since then - I've pretty much been brought up on horse riding. Nothing clears my head better than flying round a course of jumps or going for a drive in the carriage #perfection
  2. Reading - I've always been a bookworm and I always have a book on the go! I'm a sucker for teen novels but I love classics too :) Ooh - and plays; I love reading plays - there's something so magical about reading a play and having it come to life in your head exactly as the playwright intended :)
  3. Writing - I'm a big geek when it comes to writing and English - I loved writing essays when I was in college so when I stopped studying English I felt that there was a void of writing in my life - enter my lil ole blog here :)
  4. Music - Playing the piano has always been my escape - when I'm annoyed or stressed you will always hear me messing around on the piano. Not just playing music, but also listening to it - in my car there's always a mix CD on, when I'm walking around campus my head phones are always in, when I'm studying there's always a last.fm station on - I'm a music lover :) side note: check out my playlists {1} {2} {3} to see what I've been listening to :)
  5. Social Networking - Yep, as tragic as it is having this as my hobby - I've gotta be truthful. Whether it be fb, tumblr, blogging, pinterest or twitter (especially twitter - I'm an excessive tweeter! #sorryimnotsorry) my day is not complete with out them!
What are your hobbies - please let me know in the comments - I'd love to hear!

--------------------
Day #24 -  Describe your family dynamic of your childhood vs. your family dynamic now.

Yeh - I'm gonna skip Day 24. My family life is still adjusting shall we say so yeh. sorry.

Check back tomorrow for my historical dinner party! :)

In ____ Years Time...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November - so here's the next instalment...

Day #22 - Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? - I'm a massive believer in positive visualisation so I like to plan out my life and where I want it to go on a pretty regular basis; there is no room for negativity in my life!

In 5 years time I'll be... 24
I will have finished uni by then so I'd like to have passed my degree with a good degree grade
I'd like to be starting off my career in a path lab of a hospital
I'd love to still be with the bf - maybe engaged by then? (Tiffanys *hint hint*)/
I'd like to be living in my own place - well my childhood home just without Ma :P
I'd like to still be blogging :D
I'd like to be as happy as I am now.

In 10 years time I'll be... 29
I'd like to be either married or at least committed in some way to the bf
I'd like to have travelled more
I'd like to be settled into my career and making my way towards a specialism
I'd like to have a fur baby (or two...or three :P)
I'd like to be as happy as I am now.

In 15 years time I'll be... 34
-(this seems light years away!)
I'd like to do some sort of research in my field (and maybe end up with a Nobel Prize :P)
I'd like to have adopted a child
I'd like to be as happy as I am now.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

Check in tomorrow to read about my hobbies :)

Big News...

Hey everyone

So Ma and I are gonna have a new addition to our household in the next couple of weeks... a cute ickle puppy dog!

Initially I was pretty apprehensive because I miss {Daisy} so much that I didn't think a new puppy would be able to fill that void but as soon as I saw her I just about died of her cuteness!

 I'm so excited!

Super Powers...

Hey everyone

I'm doing the Get To Know Me Link Up from Elizabeth over at {Moonlit Goodbyes} for the month of November - so here's the next instalment...

Day #21 - If you could have one superpower, what would it be and what would you do with it first?

I'd love to be able to Time Travel.

I like the idea of being able to go back in time to change things if I needed to or to go into the future to see how things would pan out.

Or to go waay back in time to see what my ancestors were like, or even further back to see the dinosaurs.

Or to go through time to watch evolution happen - that'd be pretty amazing I'm sure.

What superpower would you like to have?

Check in tomorrow for me musing about the future #scary :)
